Verizon and NFL Extend Multiyear Partnership

Verizon (NYSE: VZ  ) and the National Football League have renewed their sponsorship and content agreement through the 2014 season, according to an NFL announcement released today.

Verizon has historically held the title of "Official Wireless Service Provider" of the NFL, and this newest partnership will keep the telecom king on its throne.

For the upcoming 2013 season, Verizon and NFL are updating their mobile app, offering exclusive phone access to Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football coverage, as well as access to the NFL Network and NFL Redzone. The updated app includes features such as game highlights, video analysis, fantasy football options, and customizable alerts.

In 2013, the new agreement will expand Verizon's partnership to include access to live afternoon games aired by local CBS and Fox stations on Sunday afternoons, as well as postseason playoff games including the Super Bowl.
